Welcome to Mulberry Fork Review!
We are proud to announce the launch of the Mulberry Fork Review website. MFR is a biannual, online literary magazine specializing in the publication of prose, both fiction and nonfiction. Whether your work takes the form of a short story, flash fiction, essay, lyrical essay, creative nonfiction, or prose poetry – we want to read it. All genres and styles are welcome. Our first issue is slated for publication in March, 2014. There is still time to submit work for consideration – see Open Call for Submissions. The magazine will be available to read online in PDF format – FREE.
We are also interested in weekly content for our website. If you would like to be a Guest Blogger or submit articles, essays, interviews (even self-interviews), reviews, or news for consideration, feel free: Submission Guidelines.
A little bit about us… Mulberry Fork Review was founded in 2013 by Dr. Amy Burns, Managing Director and former Editor of UK-based small publisher, Unbound Press, and online literary journal, Spilling Ink Review. Amy closed the doors to UP and SIR in late 2012 but her passion for literary magazines and publishing remained undimmed. Thanks in part to the continued encouragement from UP and SIR followers, she has been tempted back into the world of online literary publication.
Amy is joined by a group of exceptionally talented writers and editors who form the Mulberry Fork Review Editorial Team. Dr Charlie Taylor holds a PhD in Sociology from the University of Lancaster. He has a distinguished list of publications including novels, short stories and articles. P.W. Bridgman is an award-winning author who holds degrees in Psychology and Law. His first book of short fiction, Standing at an Angle to My Age, has received critical acclaim and is available through Libros Libertad or Amazon. Ailsa Crum is soon to complete her PhD in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow. C.D. Mitchell holds degrees in Finance, Law and an MFA in creative writing. God’s Naked Will and Other Sacrilege, a collection of stories, was published in September, 2013 by Burnt Bridge Press and was named one of the Top 10 Fall Releases by The Young Folks. His most recent collection of short stories, Alligator Stew, is available for pre-order now from Southern Yellow Pine Publishing.
We invite you to explore the website for more information on the goings-on here at Mulberry Fork Review. We’re developing an online Community where you can find writer profiles, resources, and links to some of our favorite literary magazines and independent booksellers.
